Natural Insect Control and
The New Millenium
Natural Insect Control (NIC), a limited company, enters its 12th year of operation and the 21st Century
in an extremely positive position within the biological control market. NIC's team includes "on staff"
entomological graduates capable of dealing with not only crop pest problems, but pest problems in
greenhouses, lawn care, poultry, dairy, hog and the entire livestock arena including bison. One of our
newest team members - a fully bilingual entomology graduate from Quebec - will be crucial in opening new
doors in the French-speaking and heavily populated adjoining province of Quebec. We anticipate making
some strategic moves through and with certain recommends and guidance from our existing clientelle within
that province.
We continue to maintain agreements with certain U.S. insectaries and the recent expansion of our alliance
with Canada's largest biological control producer located in western Canada, along with their eastern
Canada territory of Ontario, Quebec and the three maritime provinces, again puts us in an excellent
position for ongoing growth. This alliance also gives us extra leverage to market certain products in
western Canadian markets without inherent staff and facility costs.
Natural Insect Control (NIC), originally a mail order business, has since its inception operated from a
wholly owned 50-acre facility/nature preserve which has been augmented recently by an additional purchase
and alliances with neighbours to increase this protected environment to over 150 acres. This location
will continue to house NIC's executive offices and research department for the next few years.
NIC endeavours at all times to fit into God's intricate and wonderful plan. Telling people the truth
about bio-diversity, and how prey and predator relationships work can bring a change to a poison-free
thinking and "make a future possible." We are dedicated to promoting healthful, environment friendly
products and ideas - recycling, using and selling recycled products whenever possible, is our aim.
Our ongoing "controlled" growth has accelerated greatly in the last 2-3 years due to contracts with major
Canadian wholesalers and retailers and now represents significant percentages of annual revenues. This
has prompted us to seek an additional facility. A purchase agreement has been signed and as conditions
are fulfilled, we anticipate taking over in July or August 2001. This new facility located close by at a
main intersection, will not only provide excellent shipping, receiving and warehousing capabilities, but
provide office space for team members associated with those areas. Our first retail location will be
opened at this new location and we look forward to this new challenge.
We are poised for moves into the tender fruit and grape vineyard industry in Niagara and have a distinct
advantage by being located within 20 minutes of most of this area. The famous vineyard and fruit belt
area of British Columbia promises to be an excellent west coast market, especially with our new western
partner.
Our location 10 minutes from the USA (Buffalo, NY - Niagara Falls, NY) and a warehousing facility in
Buffalo, NY, simplifies customs brokering and such international activities, which we have expedited
greatly due to our 12 years of cross-border experience.
Another major player in bio control has recently passed on their consumer (retail) business and inquiries
to us which will be an additional asset. Discussions relative to franchises and other alliances are
ongoing and overall the next two to three years looks extremely positive for NIC's ongoing growth and
profitability.
