Black Oil Sunflower Seed is the undisputed champion in wild bird food! Ideally, it should be the primary component of any bird feeding project. It should comprise at least 75% of the overall content of any birdfeeder that you may own. Over 40 different avian species are known to eat black oil sunflower seeds. It is an excellent food as the oil content exceeds 40%.

SPECIAL NOTES: We strongly recommend that you use only Black Oil Sunflower Seed in your birdfeeders as this seed does not attract House Sparrows or Starlings. Both of these species are non-native and are extremely aggressive towards native birds, so it is important that their presence be deterred from your feeder(s). All native birds will feed on the Black Oil Sunflower Seed.
