BUMBLEBEES FOR POLLINATING
Latin name: Bombus impatience (Ontario & East Canada) & B. occidentalis (West Canada) Place your hive near your garden to pollinate tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, blueberries, cranberries, raspberries, black and red currents, zucchini, melons and any crop needing pollination. Hive comes with cotton top to protect the hive from the sun and cold. The bees use the cotton as insulation. Specific crops require varying number of hives, please ask for recommendations.
OPTIMUM CONDITIONS: 20-30C (68-86 F) 60% R.H, but bees are active at lower temperatures (5C/41F).
A-CLASS HIVES: covers 2,000 m sq. (21, 527 ft sq.) and lasts 12 weeks.
C-CLASS HIVES: covers 500 m sq. (5.381 ft sq.) and lasts 4 weeks.
SPECIAL NOTES: Note: Because bumblebees need pollen & nectar, & some plants such as tomatoes have no nectar, a food (sugar) solution is part of the colony.
Note: BENEFICIAL INSECTS - must be ordered by Thursday for shipping the following Tuesday
